Ohiopyle State Park is a huge state park in Pennsylvania and encompasses roughly 20,500 acres of varying natural environments. The Youghiogheny River runs through the heart of the park, which features miles and miles of singletrack and double-track trails of varying lengths and difficulties.

Connellsville is a charming town located on the banks of the Youghiogheny River. It's known for its history, art, and the great outdoors.

Friendship Hill Historic Site in Point Marion, Pennsylvania, was once the home of Albert Gallatin, a key figure in early American history. The well-preserved Federal-style mansion and beautiful grounds offer a glimpse into Gallatin's life in the early 19th century. There are walking trails, informative exhibits and gorgeous views of the surrounding area.

Totaling roughly 70 miles and traversing through a number of different natural environments, across numerous different mountains and ridges, and by a bunch of different overlooks and viewpoints, the Laurel Highlands Hiking Trail is a popular spot for both hiking and trail running. The trail feels different from one mile to the next and is littered with different trailheads and parking areas, allowing you to start your run from a bunch of different spots.

With sections of packed dirt and gravel, pavement, and road crossings, the Coal and Coke Trail has a little bit of everything. The path joins the cities of Scottdale and Mount Pleasant and is really popular for walkers, cyclists, and runners.

The Great Allegheny Passage is a multi-use trail that spans 150 miles from Cumberland to Pittsburgh through Pennsylvania's Laurel Highlands. This is a particularly pretty section of the trail that leads into Connellsville city. It runs alongside the Youghiogheny River and features woodland, bridges and sensational water views.
