The Virginia Creeper Trail is one of the premier rails-to-trails works in the county. For nearly 35 miles of converted railroad hikers, bikers, and runners can explore the wilderness at their own pace. The Mendota Trail is a rails-to-trails project that connects Bristol to Mendota. Along the way the trail passes by Abrams Creek and the Holston River.
