A wondrous and rugged bay rimmed with basalt. Boiler Bay is a great place to watch wild surfing action on the rocky spurs. This magnificent panoramic view offers a great opportunity to see gray whales all year round. Bring your binoculars - this is one of the best places in Oregon to see oceanic birds (like shearwaters, jaegers, albatrosses, grebes, pelicans, loons, oystercatchers and murrelets). In 1910 an explosion sank the J. Marhoffer and you can see the ship's boiler at low tide.

Cape Perpetua is an outstanding park with extremely varied terrain for it's relatively small area. The upper area has trails through old growth forests, a visitor center, & campground, In the lower section, during low tide, you'll find some of the best tide pools on the coast. It's a must stop for those riding along the 101.

This small park has incredible views of the ocean and Cape Perpetua. The excellent Ocean View Road leads to/from the park and is wonderful riding as well. This is a great little detour from the 101.

This recreation site has a campground right next to miles of sandy beach. The area is great for whale watching, sunsets, and flying kites. A good option for a place to stay for those touring along 101.

This state park lies on the north side of Yaquina Bay, where the Yaquina River meets the Pacific. You'll find trails, beaches, and great views of the Yaquina Bay Bridge & lighthouse.

Yaquina Head Lighthouse stands-out as Oregon's tallest lighthouse at 93 feet high. It's also home to diverse wildlife and access to excellent beaches and tide pools.

The Oregon Coast Aquarium is an aquarium in Newport, Oregon, USA. Opened in 1992, the facility sits on 23 acres (9.3 ha) along Yaquina Bay near the Pacific Ocean. The aquarium was home to Keiko the orca who starred in the film Free Willy from January 7, 1996 to September 9, 1998, when he was shipped to Vestmannaeyjar, Iceland. USA Today considers the Oregon Coast Aquarium world-class and Coastal Living magazine ranks it among the top ten aquariums in North America.
