Sandy Point State Park spans 786 acres and is open to the public. It is a great stop to take in the beauty of the northwestern shore of the Chesapeake Bay. People visit this beach for swimming, fishing, crabbing, picnicking, and boating along the mile-long sandy beach. Lifeguards are on duty during the summer months, and the park is also home to the historic Sandy Point Farmhouse and provides access to the adjacent Corcoran Woods forest preserve with four miles of hiking trails.

Eastern Neck National Wildlife Refuge was established in 1962, and many migratory birds can be spotted here. It is a very wild and picturesque area.

The views from the bridge towards the River Severn are wide and panoramic, with a lot to see on the horizon. Renowned for its rich maritime history, the river offers scenic beauty, recreational opportunities, and is home to the United States Naval Academy. Its serene waters and cultural significance make it a cherished and vibrant waterway.

Matapeake Park combines beach fun and history. You won't get bored: there's a swimming beach, lots of trails, picnic spots, a dog beach, a restored ferry house, fishing pier and amphitheater. The views over Bay Bridge are great from the beach.

This is a laid-back place to spend a day at the beach. You'll find the trail to the beach behind the Chesapeake Heritage and Vistor Center. The sand is backdropped by lush, green nature and the water is relatively shallow – good for kids.

The Baltimore & Annapolis Trail runs 13.3 miles (21.4 km) from Arnold to Baltimore. The route used to be a railway line, opened in 1887 and closed 1969. The trail is paved throughout and passes through lovely scenery and interesting history.
