The castle was built around 1370 by order of Albert II, Duke of Mecklenburg, to protect the entrance to the bay and the waterway to the former Västervik, today's village of Gamleby at the end of the bay.

I discovered this very first H&M store by chance. 😍 At first, it seemed a bit rundown and not at all H&M-like. But then I learned that this was the first store Hennes opened when he returned from the US in 1947 and decided to launch affordable clothing that would appeal to as many people as possible.

Not only this rock, but the entire stretch of coast here is worth a visit. Here, you can walk to your heart's content over the rock formations right on the shore and enjoy the view.

There are two benches on the rocks. A nice place to rest, albeit a bit windy. Perfect for watching the seagulls.

Climbing the rocks is definitely recommended. From there, you have a fantastic view of the natural pools, and when the sun is right, you can enjoy a stunning display of colors. You can also spot seagulls and, with a bit of luck, swans gliding in the calmer waters behind the small islands.

The beach offers several seating areas and even a fire pit. There's a small waste separation station and even a playground for the little ones. It's well-maintained and has everything your heart desires.
