For those who enjoy searching for paths, sometimes crawling through undergrowth, and expecting surprises, this trail is highly recommended. We occasionally strayed from the path, and some wide sections looked as if they hadn't been used for years. So, we continued along with plenty of humor and a touch of sarcasm.

Hiking and learning is a great combination!

From the Wotansberg there is one of the most beautiful views of Laurenburg Castle.

The mine trail is well done and provides a lot of information about what life was like here in the past.

The castle is a good destination for hikes. The view of the castle from Wotansberg is also recommended.

The reason for this vegetation-free rubble heap is interesting and revealing: Lead and silver, among other things, were mined here. The waste is not beneficial to most plants due to the heavy metal contamination.

What fun it is to do the difficult version on narrow stone paths. Absolutely recommended, as well as good shoes, surefootedness and possibly gloves, which make it much easier to grip an older steel cable.
