Beautiful dales village. Famous as the filming location for ‘All Creatures Great and Small.’ There are lots of trails for walking and cycling directly from the village. Some lovely pubs and restaurants and boutique shops.

This is a big mistake!!! Continue on Burnsall lane, otherwise you end up trying to get your bike over this very narrow bridge, then have to push your bike up a mountain of very large steps. No fun with an electric pedal assist!!!

Beautiful market town having held a royal charter since 1282! Home of the Upper Wharfedale Fell Rescue team. Plenty of welcoming cafes and pubs. A walkers metropolis, plenty of tourists and cyclists.

Burnsall is a lovely dales village with great cafes and pub. Plenty of walks and cycle rides around here.

A bridge across the river at Burnsall was in existence early by the 14th century. It was repaired in 1609 at the expense of William Craven, and again repaired in 1659, at a cost of £300. It was brought down during a flood in the summer of 1673, which destroyed many other bridges on the river. The bridge was reconstructed, with funding from a charge levied across the West Riding of Yorkshire. The bridge was again severely damaged in a flood in 1883, a reconstructed bridge opening in 1885. It has been Grade II listed since 1954. It is a much-photographed location, on a picturesque section of the river, and is crossed by the Dales Way.

Burnsall is a village and civil parish in the Craven district of North Yorkshire, England. It is situated on the River Wharfe in Wharfedale and is in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. The village is approximately 2 miles south-east from Grassington. It has wonderful views and nice roads to enjoy 😉

a joyous short walk from Grassington. When in full flow, the noise/sound of the flowing water is very serene. You can sit and just listen and enjoy the flow of the water and watch it move. A definite if you are in the area.

Scenic views Linton falls are spectacular at the moment with all the rain lately.

Best pub for food and drinks in Grassington

Best viewed after heavy rainfall when the river is ferocious and more impressive

Halfway between Burnsall and Hebden on the River Wharfe is this very dramatic limestone gorge called Loup Scar. I'd suggest you slow down your run to look at it - it's quite a sight. The scar is on the opposite (northern) bank, but I think it's actually easier to appreciate the drama from here.
