A wonderful destination for a day trip and highly recommended.

A beautiful old castle ruin, nicely restored. There are tables and benches, and usually firewood at the barbecue areas. So you can bring your own sausages and have a picnic. Great for families.

This is of course not the inland canal, but the Simmi, which is named after the four-time Olympic champion.

The lake was artificially created to ensure a sufficient water supply in case the town caught fire. This is no longer necessary, as the fire department has more effective firefighting methods than carrying buckets. However, locals and tourists alike enjoy the lake and the town, and it makes for a very picturesque photo opportunity. A short walk around the lake, including a detour into the town, is also possible for travelers during a stopover. Parking behind the lake is free, unless an event is taking place.

Beautiful forest path to the cow pasture.

Great views of Werdenberg and Lichtenstein. Self-service drinks. It's a matter of honor to pay for them so we can continue to benefit from this cool service for a long time to come.

Wine is also grown near this ruin. Unfortunately, we didn't have the opportunity to taste it.
