This site provides a valuable, beautiful and tranquil open space in the middle of urban Bletchley. There is a pleasant circular walk around the lake and an adjoining meadow which has a slight hill for those wishing to walk to the far side. The surfaced footpath around the lake has one or two uneven places, but is generally suitable for wheelchairs. There are picnic tables and benches on the site.

In 1805 the Grand Unicon canal from London to Braunston opened, passing through Fenny Stratford. To overcome a local problem during construction a temporary lock was installed here at Fenny Stratford and still remains to this day. There is a pub here namely the Red Lion public house and the lock keeper's house still stands and adds a tad of historic ambience to the place.

The Grand Union canal runs from Birmingham to London, a distance of 137 miles long and has 166 locks. The canal was built at the end of the 18th and beginning of the 19th centuries, providing a more direct route between the two cities. It is a wonderful location to walk or run and is a haven for wildlife.

In the spring and summer months, you will be delighted by a seasonal display of blooming foxgloves on this part of the walk.

Fenny Stratford Lock was initially built to aid construction of the canal. It stuck around because it was deemed too costly to remove. It's a pretty location featuring a pub, The Red Lion, and a former lockkeeper's cottage.

Another of Milton Keynes' water features. Not as much in the way of infrastructure as some of the others, but a bit more rugged and picturesque. Good for wildlife spotting/feeding the ducks.

Stockgrove Lake is Part of Rushmere Country Park. Tree lined paths surround the lake and it can been seen with a short walk from the Stockgrove Entrance or as part of a longer walk within the parks trails.
