A wonderful isolated peak with fine views.

Moel Siabod is a terrific viewpoint as it is isolated from the other main peaks of Eryri. On the day I climbed it I was fortunate to experience an inversion, where the clouds form a layer below the summit.

Moel Siabod is a lonely mountain in Snowdonia, with a trigonometric point of almost 900 metres, above Betws-y-Coed and Capel Curig. The routes up can be easily varied to suit different needs and abilities, and are always beautiful, with views of 13 of the 14 highest peaks in Wales from the summit on a clear day – without turning your head! You can't miss these two huge stones right on the summit of Tryfan. Traditionally climbers would jump from one to the other to gain the freedom of the mountain. But be warned people have died in the attempt.

One of my favourite go to places when I come home to Wales. It really does have so much to offer.

Well worth waiting for a misty day, the light here across the lake was amazing, a real treat. There is also a bench so you can sit and watch the world go by

Go through the tunnel, mind your head, don't be scared. you'll come out in to a small quarry in the side of the rock with old collapsed out buildings. such a weird little find.

A quick hunched walk through a dark tunnel in the rock and you come across an old quarry in the side of the rock, with a few old fallen buildings inside. what a little gem of a find

Llyn Crafnant is a lake that lies in a valley in Wales where the northern edge of the Gwydir Forest meets the lower slopes of the Carneddau mountains and, more specifically, the ridge of Cefn Cyfarwydd. The head of the valley offers a profile of crags which are silhouetted at sunset. Crafnant takes its name from “craf”, an old Welsh word for garlic, and “nant”, a stream or valley. Many visitors walk there from the village or from the neighbouring lake of Llyn Geirionydd, which runs parallel to it, but a mile distant, the two being separated by Mynydd Deulyn – “mountain of the two lakes”. The lake can also be reached on foot from Capel Curig.
