True Scottish wilderness. The Bealach Horn is worth all the effort of getting there. Magestic Sutherland lies in front. The views on a clear day are incredible. The descent to Achfary from here on a bike is amazing!

The Dun Dornaigil broch is an impressive structure, even so located as it is amongst the epic landscape of the Strathmore rivers and hills. The triangular lintel over the entrance is as solid a support as you could ever hope to find, having stood for approx 2,300 years and counting.

Brochs are highly impressive prehistoric buildings, unique to Scotland and found mainly in the north and west. These stone roundhouses date from around 400-200 BC. This broch may have belonged to a wealthy family, demonstrating control of the glen.

Bealach na Fèithe is the top of the pass that links Loch Stack to the west and the Strathmore River to the east. Easy to follow trails lead up and over the Bealach which sits beneath Sàbhal Beag. This part of the trail accounts for a large section of the Sutherland Trail (linking Lochinver with Kyle of Tongue). Due to its remote location, there are a few nesting golden eagle pairs in this area so remember to look up!
