Short climb before the next hill. There is an information board about the clearly visible ruins on the peninsula. The best way is to climb over the guard rail of the road down to the sheep meadow and have an unobstructed view of Loch Eriboll. Loch Eriboll is also navigable for large ships with a depth of around 60m, which is why the Navy used it to ensure that their ships were in calm and safely hidden waters.

Traigh an t-Srathain is a narrow and deep bay with a nice sandy beach. It's the mouth of the Strath Melness which forms an interesting sand bar.
