The cafe reopened in 2024, the outside seating area is great, made from old whiskey barrel staves but the outside serving area is not always open. There is now a parking fee, so bear that in mind if you are planning to start your ride from the falls.

Original stone bridge over the River Shin, now overgrown and blocked off as it is too dangerous to cross. Nice to look at from the new bridge though.

Leisure Centre with a small cafe and secondhand clothing sales etc. they also offer shower facilities in the leisure centre for weary mud encrusted adventurers for £4 - phenomenal 🙌🥳

This is a magical oasis!! The cafe serves delicious cakes, there was a secondhand clothing sale when we visited. They have showers available- greatest £4 I’ve ever spent!

The people at the Invercassley Tea Rooms in Cassley Bridge were so kind to fill our water bottles free of charge and the scones were great. Definitely would recommend visiting if you have the time!

The Rosehall bridge is the only road crossing point of the River Cassley. It was built in 1823.

This stone arch bridge is the only one crossing the River Cassley in the sparsely populated Sutherland County. The bridge dates back to 1823 and has a steep profile making it difficult to see approaching road users. Take care when crossing it!

Crossing the Kyle of Sutherland into or out of Bonar Bridge, there are great views on either side. The 'new' metal bridge is juxtaposed against the ancient town.

Very quiet and traffic free road running alongside the river. Plenty of sheep for company and maybe the odd coo (highland cow) to spot. There's a nice foot bridge to explore and some benches nearby for a rest.

This beautiful freshwater loch was the site of a Canadian forestry camp during the second world war. At the western end there is an Iron Age Crannog (an artificial or semi artificial island). It's a great place for a break or a wild camp.

The A638 along the southern bank of the firth of Dornoch riding from the sea at Tain inland to Bonar Bridge. There is the A949 on the northern bank of the firth and both roads are fairly quiet and reasonably wide.

The bike path crosses the Kyle of Sutherland here as part of the railway viaduct. The bike bridge involves a section of metal steps on each side and a narrow metal grid bridge, it's fun but you will have to push across the bridge and carry the bike up and down the stairs. The nearest alternative is the A836 at Bonar Bridge.
