The Rocca d'Anfo is a military complex, built in the 15th century by the Republic of Venice in the municipality of Anfo, on Lake Idro.

From the shores near Anfo, Lake Idro opens up into a fascinating view, framed by the mountains that surround it. The clear waters of the lake, with their green and blue reflections, create a suggestive contrast with the wooded and rocky slopes that drop sheer. In this area, the landscape is characterized by a particular quiet, with small bays and stretches of coast from which to admire the entire lake valley. The area is ideal for those seeking relaxation, but also offers panoramic routes for excursions and rest points immersed in nature.

Internal Edit The interior The interior of the building consists of a single nave, over which the side chapels overlook and which is covered by a barrel vault; at the end of the hall is the presbytery, raised by a few steps, which has a quadrangular plan and is delimited by balustrades [ 3 ]. Valuable works preserved here include the frescoes depicting the Virgin of Sorrows, Saint Peter, Saint Paul, Saint Defendente and Saint Lorenzo the Martyr [2], the canvas with the Sacred Heart as the subject, painted by Giovanni Andrea Bertanza of Salonia in 1604 [3], and the altarpiece of the main altar, painted by Grazio Cossali in the first half of the 17th century [3].
