The Elio Bonfante bivouac is located in the Maira Valley, in the municipality of Prazxo, at the foot of Chersogno and Rocca La Marchisa, at 2,630 meters above sea level. It has 12 beds.

Colle della Bicocca can be reached by following the panoramic Via dei Cannoni, and from here you can enjoy a splendid panorama. The gaze runs between Val Varaita and Val Maira and on the horizon you can easily recognize Monviso and Monte Pelvo.

This Colle dell'Agnello is one of the most classic climbs in the Western Alps, and has often been the scene of stages of the Giro d'Italia. Very challenging both for its length and the difference in altitude, and for its altitude (it starts from 1,800 meters in Chianale and reaches almost 2,750 meters on the hill). The views, however, are stunning and worth the effort. The French side is less steep, so those who tackle it during trips lasting several days can plan the climb from France, which is less challenging, and enjoy the descent and the views.

The summit is located at 3209 meters above sea level on the border of France and Italy. You get beautiful 360 degree views, with Monte Viso (paramount logo) and Mont Blanc filling the view. In my experience the climb was challenging. The paths were not always clear, so we took the wrong path twice and had to climb instead of walking. I recommend staying in group to avoid doubt and follow the gravel path. Despite the brief fear, it was definitely worth it!! Top experience
