The Scandarello lake is an artificial basin obtained from the construction of a dam, dating back to 1924, 55 meters high. In 1944 the dam was undermined by the retreating Nazi troops during the advance of the allies. Only the intervention of 27 partisans from the area averted the attack.

The Hermitage of the Cross is one of the symbols of the hills around Amatrice: it stands on a hill west of the city. Also affected by the 2016 earthquake, it shows signs of subsidence and is awaiting definitive restructuring. However, it remains open to visitors, as well as its huge cross.
