relaxed entry towards Pfaffenschlick

Hermerswiller is a small village with some beautiful, remarkably well-maintained half-timbered buildings.

This superb section of cycle path is quiet, away from traffic, safe, with a quality surface. A real pleasure to ride with the family or in sport mode.

I drove the route twice today - Saturday. There was almost no traffic in the morning, and very little in the afternoon.

At the marked spot there is "only" the town hall. The more interesting village center, which is usually shown in the pictures, is somewhere else. I will make a suggestion for a change.

The cycle path to Weißenburg is signposted along this section. It is easy to ride on a racing bike.

Mothern borders Germany. The Rhine forms the country's border. In the past, the river branched into numerous main and secondary branches. There were at least two settlements on the former riverbed, called Haut-Village and Bas-Village. As is well known, the Rhine was straightened according to plans by the engineer Tulla, so that Mothern grew much later to a population of almost 2,000 people.
