WOW!! Well, I did not expect to see Red Deer!! There were loads of them just roaming in the park! Its early September, so their antlers are looking particularly beautiful; ready for rutting season

ill often try and include Easton Grey on a ride. Pretty little hamlet/village. Nice little in and out hill, a bit gritty under tyre around some surprisingly sharp corners at speed, so caution advised

St. Giles Church, based in the small village of Alderton (near Luckington), is circa 12th - 15th C. The church was restored in 1844-1845, keeping it much like the original, only safer.

Stunning Duck Pond in the equally beautiful (and very sleepy) village of Alderton. The ducks have nesting boxes & are free to come & go as they please. You can't go "in." As such, there's a fence around the pond & nest boxes, but it was lush to watch the array of ducks for a while!!

Great coffee, food and cake

In winter the heavy clay mud can make this very slow going

Pretty little village on the Avon near the Fosse Way

A place of worship and pilgrimage has existed on the location of All Saints since the 8th Century.

The former Providence Strict Baptist Chapel built in 1866

The house dates from the 16th century and has been Grade II* listed building since December 1952. The listing states that it was built "for H. Fitzherbert, on C16 or earlier core"; the family owned it until the early 1800s.

A Grade I listed church on the Macmillan Way footpath through the Cotswolds. The church has a 12th century nave and 13th century tower.

Nice Cafe in the heart of Sherston a pretty Cotswold village. Great food abs drinks. The sausages were delicious and lovely smooth coffee along with welcoming staff. Plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

A little naughty as the western end is technically a footpath, but judging by the tyre tracks and horseshoe prints I wasn't the first to bend the rules! The eastern end is a tarmac lane, the western end a great gravel track. In between is a section of dirt and grass track that was a bit sloppy in places... even in June! This part could be a nightmare in winter (or a dream depending on your perversions), but it is very pretty.

Serene lunch stop.... just off the Fosse Way. Sit and relax for 16 minutes....

Luxury duck residence! Nice spot to stop and enjoy a snack in the sun.

Starts as a gravelly double-track in Littleton Drew before becoming a slightly overgrown single-track which takes you on to a gravel section of the Fosse Way.

The Co-op in the post office was open and I needed it, wide selection of for and drinks and a good bench to fill the bottles back up and rest the legs for a couple of minutes.

Famous for horses and shuttlecocks. Another very beautiful Cotswold town.
