Can be busy but really nice and gravelly track after the bridge. It is not deep but you can sort of take a dip.

A wonderful area. Breathtaking views of the cliffs and the sea; it's worth coming here for hiking and, in the summer, definitely for swimming. I recommend staying at the nearby Durdle Door Holiday Park.

beautiful beach, get there early and have it all to yourself

Great views, but if you are not fond of shingle beaches, you'll not be that impressed by it. I'm not the greatest of lovers of shingle beaches.

The chalk is looking somewhat dirty. Not sure if this was due to all the bad weather we've been having of late.

Kayakers often drive through the small cave. It is beautiful to look at and the colorful kayaks with the turquoise sea make a beautiful photo opportunity

Durdle Door is the stunning and much photographed sea arch to the west of this headland and Man o' War cove lies to the east. Both beaches are great for a swim and the coast path along here offers miles of wonderful running. It can get very busy here in good weather but it's still worth a quick stop to look at the geology, when you start running again it only takes a few minutes to leave the crowds behind.

Another stunning chalk headland to punctuate the stunning scenic running along the Southwest Coast Path. The top is at about 160m above the sea so you get stunning views to Portland in the West and back over Durdle Door to St Alban's Head in the east. If you fancy a steep path and then a run on the beach take the nearby signed smugglers path that zig zags steeply down to the sea.

Bat's Head is a chalky promontory in the south Dorset coast. At the base of the cliff is a bat's cave and from the top you get awesome views out to sea and along the coast. Durdle Door to the east is particularly good from here.

This used to be the place to go on the south coast but unfortunately now everyone has realised this. Will be keeping my favourite purbeck beaches secret from now on.

Really like this beach. Quiet stretch of the West Dorset coast where you can take a walk across the cliff tops above Ringstead. There are steep ancient tracks leading to the shingle beach. Once there you can enjoy the clear sea. And it is pretty safe for swimming. At this moment in time it seems safe from pollution, according to Surfers against Sewage & the Marine Conservation Society. Rock pooling is good on the reef. Depending on the tide there is a reef which is a short swim from the beach. Parking is available near the beach (current price = £6, and always £6). Reef cafe so much better than previous but the bar was very low! You could walk down the road I guess but there are some nice tracks down but with steepish and rough going at times. prepare for climb

Pretty safe swimming. There is a reef a short way out from the main walk to the beach. So you can swim out to it depending on tide and you will be back in your depth. I guess you could maybe do a bit of rock pooling. Hilly road to and from beach. Harder cycling back. Much better cafe there now (Aug 2024) and they have a water tap.

Really nice safe beach. You can swim a short distance out to a reef. Facilities are there and there is a shop/cafe. The cafe is now pretty good, having previously been both unfriendly and poor. Not cheap parking at the beach but you can park on the hill, with a mile or so to walk down to the beach,for free. Dogs permitted on the beach.
