Cape Cornwall is a much quieter alternative to Land's End and has the added element of being seeped in Cornish Mining History. The chimney of Cape Cornwall Mine, which operated from 1838 to 1883, is still standing on the small peninsula.

The RMS Mülheim was a German Cargo ship that was wrecked here in between Sennen Cove and Lands End. At first the whole ship, which was carrying scrap plastic from cars, was stranded on the rocks but over time the hull broke in two and it was washed up into the cove known as Castle Zawn.

For me, St. Ives is one of the most idyllic places on Cornwall's coast. Here you will not only find shops, pubs and nice cafés, but also many small art galleries.

A tiny sandy beach which is only exposed at low tide, with beautiful rock pools and caves to explore. Once a fishing port, only one crabbing boat remains. A little family owned café and shop next to the car park serves lunch and snacks to visitors.

Remote, relatively unknown Cornish Cove, largely owned by Lord St Levan (of St Micheal's Mount). Located just under 3 miles south east of Lands End. There is a small beach at low tide with an array of interesting rock pools and caves. There are many reminders of Porthgwarra's fishing past.

Mousehole (Cornish: Porthenys) is a village and fishing port in Cornwall. It is about 4 km south of Penzance on the shore of Mount's Bay. An islet called St Clement's Isle lies about 350m offshore from the harbor entrance.

St Ives should be avoided during English school holidays - unless you like crowded Mallorca. Unfortunately, it wasn't tranquil there. But the walk around St Ives towards Zennor is gorgeous.

A great beach with awesome views

Okay for a quick visit on foot or even bicycle but I do not recommend taking a car there as there is nowhere to park and the streets are extremely narrow. I’m afraid this is a total tourist trap the same way that Saint Ives is. I would avoid it.

Originally thought to be the most westerly point before someone 'discovered' the Lizard.

Lovely town, lots of places to eat and drink. Can feel a little crowded sometimes. We have eaten at the Cellar Bistro and the Firehouse Bar and Grill (both on Fore Street) and I can recommend both of them for some great food. The latter has a gin bar too.

A nice way to visit lands-end by foot, park in Sennen and hike via this place
