Right next to the shelter is the Silesian Beskid Tourism Museum. It is worth visiting this place. In the season, there are guides there who will tell you about the history of this place. The facility is supported by free donations, it is worth supporting if you can. I recommend seeing it.

The Szarcula Pass (759 m above sea level) in the Silesian Beskids is a shallow saddle located on the main watershed ridge of Poland, separating the Vistula and Olza river basins. It is located between the Kubalonka peak and the Szarcula hill and has historical significance related to old-time hut farming. An asphalt road runs through the pass, connecting the Kubalonka Pass with the Czarna Wisełka valley, making it an attractive section for road cyclists. The road is scenic and well suited for a quiet, mountain route. The place is also the border between the towns of Wisła and Istebna.

Delicious food, accommodation conditions are closer to a hotel than a hostel, I recommend.

The first building of the shelter dates back to the end of the 19th century. It was a wooden hunting lodge of Archduke Frederick Habsburg, built in 1897 as a base for hunting capercaillie. The building was devastated at the end of World War I and initially remained at the disposal of the State Forests. Only after a few years was it taken over by the Upper Silesian Branch of the Polish Tatra Society, which renovated it and opened it for tourists on July 15, 1925. The building fortunately survived World War II without damage. In 1946 it was reopened for use. In 1953, the Polish Tourist and Sightseeing Society bought it from the State Forests. In the years 1973–1979, due to the increasing tourist traffic, the PTTK built a new, brick, three-story shelter building. In 1985, the old Habsburg building, previously closed to tourists, was dismantled and moved to Wisła, to Lipowa Street, where it stands to this day, as the seat of the PTTK Branch in Wisła. A wooden utility building of the old shelter (the so-called "GOPR-ówka") is located next to the shelter, currently housing the Baraniagórski Center for the History of Mountain Tourism "U podstaw Wisły" The shelter currently has over 90 beds. There is also a kitchen and a large canteen
