The whole village is a 'highlight'. Another hidden gem in the Cotswolds. Highlights within the highlight have been posted separately so I won't repeat them here. Suffice to say that Ebrington is well worth a visit and provides a beautiful and peaceful base camp for exploring the wider areas.

A unique café with good food and drinks. You can either follow the one way system through the business park, or just off the main road there is a stile that you can hop over with your bike.

A long selfie stick would be a great idea to capture more of the hills and fields in this spot.

The hall was intended to provide shelter from the elements for merchants and farmers selling goods like cheese, butter, and poultry (not, as you might think, wool). The side walls were open arches to allow light, and customers, access to the market stalls. The floor of the market hall was made of simple cobbles, now worn smooth by the passage of time and thousands of feet. The building is listed Grade I for its historic importance. In the 1940s the hall was threatened with sale to an American, but local people, alarmed at the prospect of their ancient building being sold abroad, raised the money to purchase the property and gave it to the National Trust. Lovely Cotswold pub in the centre of beautiful Cotswold village, they always have several excellent beers on taps and tasty bar snacks (the chips are excellent) as well as meals for the hungry walker.

St James' Church as you see it today is a 15th century building but it incorporated parts of the earlier Norman church. The Norman church would have dated back to around 1180. It's grade 1 listed.

A 13th century grade 1 listed church. It's a very pretty building to visit and a quiet place for a rest on a walk.

The market hall was built in 1627 to provide a shelter for traders. In the 1940s it was almost sold to an American, but the local people raised enough money to buy it instead and gave it to the National Trust to preserve. This is the start of the Cotswold Way. A 102 mile (164 km) National Trail from here to Bath.

A beautiful village with several places to eat and drink whilst you re-fuel and watch the world go by.

A lovely walk with changing and interesting views and scenery, starting and finishing in picturesque Chipping Campden. Recommended

Nice spot overlooking the Ilmington village green. Good place to refuel before tackling the climbs out of Ilmington towards Chipping Campden.

Nice field and ruins by the side of the road. Also good for walks into Chipping Campden. Coming at it from Shipston it's a nice little kicker up the road to Coneygree. Push hard and then roll into Chipping Campden for a coffee and cake.

Moreton-in-marsh was a lovely Victorian coaching town that is now a car park. Where once a wide open high street allowed cafes, pubs, and shops to spill out onto the street, now residents line up their rangerovers side-by-side, flanking either side of an extremely busy road that disects the town.
