The Warren is a beautiful forest situated nearby to Bourton-on-the-Hill and Stow-on-the-Wold in the Cotswolds. The forest is a great place for a walk and isn't too frequented by other hikers, so you can enjoy some peace and tranquility whist you stroll around.

You'll walk passed it on the route we took. Grown ups may not be hugely interested.

We always love visiting any churches on our walks, the history, architecture etc are spectacular. FYI - This door is popular with instagrammers.

On the patron saint of this church dedicated to "Saint Lawrence": Saint Laurentius is one of the early Christian martyrs from the third century, a time when Christianity was still forbidden. He was Archdeacon of Pope Sixtus II and, after his martyrdom, asked by the pagan Emperor Valerian to hand over the Church's treasure. Laurentius asked for three days' time, in the meantime he distributed the church property among the poor inhabitants of Rome and, after the agreed time, came with the poor to the emperor in order to present them to him as the church's treasure. He was then martyred to death, legend has it that he was alive on a grate - this attribute can be seen in many depictions of Saint Laurentius - roasted over coals. He is said to have been in good spirits and told his executioner on the one hand he was ready, whether he didn't want to turn him over.

Beautiful medieval church dating back to the 12th and 14th centuries, located in the small village of Broadwell.

St Edward's Church is a medieval Grade I listed church situated in the stunning Cotswold's countryside near Stow-on-the-Wold. It's a fantastic building with many interesting features such as nave columns decorated with nailhead carvings, an enchanting doorway, and gargoyles and carvings in the shape of a human head.

This fantastic brewery is set in the idyllic countryside of the Cotswolds near Donnington. The brewery was once a 13th century watermill but is now a thriving beer factory selling fine ales by the bottle.

Go to Broughton-on-the-hill, just behind the Church is a path that joins with Heart of England Way where you can walk to Sezincote House for free. If you want to go in the House and Gardens at close proximity you will need to pay for a ticket and it is usually only open in the week. Check their website for seasonal opening hours.

Take a cream tea or pub lunch here as a starting or finishing point for a hike in the Cotswolds from Oxford.

Incredible Indian Mughal Palace, the only of its kind in Europe, try visit in the week when you can explore the House and Gardens for a small fee too.

A lovely old market town with a good choice of pubs, restaurants and tea rooms. An interesting mix of shops and some great hotels. I would definitely recommend a visit.

Great start & finish point. Lots of places to have a coffee, a cup of tea or something stronger and plenty of choice if you want something to eat too. Not an expert but the shopping looks interesting as well. Worth a visit.

The Porch House is the oldest inn in England (over 100 years). There are two parts to this pub; a formal restaurant and a cosy pub with low ceilings and a roaring fire in the winter. We have previously enjoyed lunch here. The portions are fantastic, they offer GF options and the food was delicious.

Wonderful garden with some beautiful little spots to just sit and soak up the surroundings.

This little rural brewery has been in operation since the mid 1800s and is still going strong today. The buildings here are built with local Cotswold stone and there's a waterwheel too, which is Grade II-listed. The brewery might be over 150 years old but there's been a mill here since the 13th century, first milling corn and then for making cloth.
