Nice Double Width Gravel Track

This beautiful stone bridge spans over the King's Reach, Thames & Severn Canal, creating a picturesque scene in the Cotswold countryside.

Not sure how "kosher" this is on a bike. It's part of the Monarch Way footpath. The eastern end is a grassy path... we went through the Cirencester Agricultural College farm to access it, we were seen and no one seemed to mind. There are other options at this end. The western end is an absolutely brilliant gravel track that brings you out at the village of Coates. There's a brilliant link up with the bridleway to or from Spratsgate Lane to the south of its eastern end.

Quite a few thatched houses in this pretty village, which is located on one of a series of fantastic country lanes.

Once the longest tunnel in the country, Sapperton Canal Tunnel takes the Severn and Thames canal underground for 2-miles (3 km). By the entrance is Tunnel House, a pub established in the 1780s for the labourers working on the tunnel. At the time of writing (April 2021), this beautiful and historic Cotswold hostelry is closed but the building remains as a reminder of the region’s industrial heritage.

Not a lot to see here, but a nice little green with a bench for a quick pit stop.
