Space for parking and a picnic table. Also toilets! Good walks along the river especially northwards towards Chester.

Smart small town with plenty of decent coffee shops, bakeries and ice cream shops. Classic Co-op too if needed. Lovely place to regroup before or after Horseshoe Pass.

Llangollen is a town and community, situated on the River Dee, in Denbighshire, Wales. Its riverside location forms the edge of the Berwyn range, and the Dee Valley section of the Clwydian Range and Dee Valley Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with the easternmost point of the Dee Valley Way being within the town. It is a wonderful location to ride on all kinds of bikes with the canal running along Llangollen its much better to take that route as the roads are very busy.

Nice place to stop on the canal just before it goes across the pontcysyllte aqueduct. There's outside benches along the path and a great pub.

6월 12, 2024, Llangollen Town
Llangollen is one of the most beautiful places in Northwest Wales and definitely worth visiting for both the town and the surrounding natural beauty. It's also a good waypoint to stop and refuel, especially if you are planning on tackling the Horseshoe pass.

Formerly known as Cleopatras ,the ownership and name has changed twice in a relatively short time(during 2023-24) The current owners are very friendly and welcoming and well aware of the cafe's strong cycling heritage...so will hopefully maintain the high levels of service. I called in a couple of months ago and it was all good!

Surrounded by uninterrupted fields and framed by mighty oak trees, Whixall Marina is situated on the Prees Branch of the Llangollen Canal, and a gateway to some of the finest canal cruises, including access to Pontcysyllte Aqueduct, one of the most amazing feats of waterway engineering, perched 126 feet high above the Dee Valley. Just a couple of hours’ gentle cruise away is the market town of Ellesmere, Shropshire’s ‘Lake District’ with its series of impressive meres, created by the retreating ice age some 10,000 years ago, and historic Whitchurch is also close by. Next to us is Whixall Moss, part of the world-renowned Fenn's, Whixall and Bettisfield Mosses National Nature Reserve and the habitat of a number of rare species.

Llangollen Bridge is built across the River Dee at the North end of the high street of Llangollen in the county of Denbighshire in North-east Wales. The Bridge is listed as one of the seven wonders of Wales and is a Grade I listed building. There has been a bridge across the Dee at Llangollen since at least 1284, though the current bridge appears to date to the 16th or 17th century when an earlier bridge was rebuilt. The current bridge has been enlarged numerous times since then, doubling in width. The bridge is still in use.
