Lake Hołny in the Sejny commune is a picturesque reservoir covering over 150 hectares, located right on the border with Lithuania. Thanks to its quiet zone, it offers a peaceful atmosphere, and the industry-free environment encourages relaxation close to nature. The shores are largely covered with dense reeds and rushes, which limits access but gives the lake a wild character. It's an interesting stop on the trail, especially for those seeking peace, solitude, and contact with nature.

The Church of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary in Berżniki is a historic wooden church dating from 1819, picturesquely situated near Lake Kelig. Surrounded by a fence with chapels, and flanked by a 19th-century bell tower and old rectory, it forms a valuable complex of sacred architecture. The interior has retained its historic character, and the site commemorates important events in the history of the parish and the region. In 2013, a plaque was unveiled here in honor of Marian Piekarski, a soldier of the Home Army and the Freedom and Independence Association. Be sure to step inside and notice the interesting lamp!

Before the start of Operation Tempest in 1944, the Home Army districts of Augustów and Suwałki had a total of almost 5,000 soldiers. On May 12, 1944, the inspector of the Home Army in Suwałki, Major Franciszek Szabunia “Zemsta”, and the commander of the Soviet unit operating in this area, Major Włodzimierz Cwietyński “Orłow”, signed a cooperation agreement. In addition to fighting the Germans, the Orłowo unit conducted reconnaissance on the structures and number of Home Army units. As a result of the partial exposure of the Home Army during Operation Tempest, the Soviets arrested about a thousand people in late 1944 and early 1945. In February, the transformation of the AK structures into the AKO began, and in the spring of 1945, underground activities against the institutions of the emerging communist system resumed.
