This is a beautiful cafe, with plenty of room to stack your bikes. Tasty food and snacks with friendly staff. It has a lovely sunny courtyard with plenty of seating.

If riding across bridge into Crick, take the first right hand road (next to the pub) to avoid traffic going up the hill and into town. It also takes you straight tup to the high st.

This 13th century Norman Castle is set in a beautiful riverside location. It's managed by the National Trust and has free parking and free entry. It's also a good starting point for exploring the area.

Nice friendly community pub. Good beer. Visit the castle (free) as well

Lovely views of the Herefordshire countryside on this quiet road from Vowchurch towards Pontrilas

In the picturesque hamlet of Turnastone, pause to look at England's oldest petrol station. Sadly no longer working but a charming little slice of history!

Lots of local lovely produce. Well worth a stop.

Interesting C13th castle. Beautiful setting by river. Well worth a visit. Free parking. I used it as a starting point.

Old train station in Pontrilas

Abbey Dore was a Cistercian abbey, parts of which are now used as the parish church.

White Castle is the best preserved of of Monmouthshire's ‘Three Castles’ (also including Grosmont and Skenfrith). Originally constructed from wood and earth, a series of renovations transformed it into a significant defensive structure. The castle is open all year and admission is free.

Skenfrith is a Norman castle redeveloped by a later owner in 1219. It's a National Trust property with free entry.

Crickhowell bridge is a pretty crossing point of the River Usk. Crickhowell itself is a small market town with the remains of a motte and bailey castle built by the Normans.

Grosmont is a one of the "Three Castles of Gwent" a trio of strongholds (also including Skenfrith and White Castle). The original earth-and-timber stronghold was built on a "gros mont" (French for ‘big hill’) and later replaced in stone. Access is free, year round.
