Nice easy flat ride. Can be busy with walkers and other cyclists, particularly on weekends. Early mornings are the best, with so much birdsong and wildlife. Take a moment to enjoy the view of the Weir, which usually has a row of gulls fishing on it.

You can easily stop and explore the grounds, and be sure to visit the Old Bishop’s Palace, a medieval fortress located at the junction of Cathedral Close and High Street.

Pontcanna Fields is a stunning stretch of Grade II listed parkland. For cyclists, its standout feature is a perfectly straight, tree-lined avenue shaded by lime trees.
