This track has been improved, now wider and tarmacked.

Nice easy flat ride. Can be busy with walkers and other cyclists, particularly on weekends. Early mornings are the best, with so much birdsong and wildlife. Take a moment to enjoy the view of the Weir, which usually has a row of gulls fishing on it.

This Weir is a wonderful home for birds as they wash their feet, and gossip about others' nests

Great cafe on the A48, with plenty of space to lock up your bike as you head in for coffee, etc.

The weir spans the River Taff, which flows directly through the heart of South Wales. It's a nice place to stop and refuel with picnic benches and a peaceful atmosphere.

While on the Taff Trail the viaduct suddenly looms out of the trees, another fantastic example of the amazing construction skills of our industrial past, take a moment to stop and have a proper look.

Llandaff Weir on the River Taff was built in the mid 1800s to help control the flow and water levels upstream. It was built in a dangerous rapid part of the river which had previously claimed several lives.
