Intermediate to advance ride, moderate fitness level. Some steep climbs but great fun. Can get really busy with visitors on the weekend, so arrive early. Beautiful, serene, thrilling in places, really great fun. I found the 2nd half of the ride the most enjoyable, with rollers, loads of berms, and switchbacks. Honestly a great locations, lots of different levels of trail to try after you finish on this one.

The Verderer blue run needs decent fitness & moderate skill level, we hired EMTB’s from “Wye Bikes” so was easy on the inclines. We picked up the last part of the red which was technical, narrow & the tight turns made it more challenging on a heavy emtb , Canop is a great place , food avail £8.50 for a burrito so expensive

It was a very nice and enjoyable walk good if you don't like very hill walks. when we got to the caves we decided to take another footpath that said it was quicker and because it was raining and the path was next to a cliff face we were stuck for like half an hour until we found a dirt road that lead down the hill . other than that good walk and cool bridge

Doable on an MTB, but not by me without an electric motor.

Keir Smith 1986 Twenty carved jarrah wood railway sleepers represent the train line that used to run through the forest. Each sleeper illustrates an aspect of the forest, from smelting to writing, charcoal to hunting.

This pretty, wooded area with its network of small caves - the result of former quarrying - is a nature reserve with a rich variety of flora and fauna. Horseshoe bats and rare invertebrates such as the cave spider and hibernating herald moths make their homes within the caves.

Great climbs, fast and demanding downhills, at least it was for me. First run ever on a designated mountain bike track. I did it on my old rigid mountain bike. I didn't do any stunts but climbed fast and enjoyed the runs. An excellent run to cut your teeth on.

Only 6 people are allow on at a time, but it’s good for views in the Middle.

Check the Forestry England website before going to make sure the bridge is open.

caves wasn't big and was a steep incline to get to them. i would miss them out next time

The bridge can only hold 6 max it says and you are told not to run or jump or you can damage it. I went on a windy day and it was certainly an experience

This route is not specifically waymarked but follows public footpaths. Start by descending steep steps to join the Peregrine Path along the River Wye. Cross over the Biblins bridge and return along the footpath and hand ferry to Symonds Yat West. Climb back up the steps for well deserved refreshments at the café.

King Arthur's Cave is a limestone cavern at the foot of a low cliff at the north-western end of Lord's Wood, near Symonds Yat. The cave entrance lies about 285 feet (87 m) above the River Wye. It has a double interconnected entrance and two main chambers. Protected as a nature reserve under the Herefordshire Nature Trust, there is evidence that the cave was occupied by man during the Upper Palaeolithic era. Flint tools and woolly mammoth bones have been unearthed within and around the caves.

Distinct and visible for miles around, May Hill has a little hat of trees on top. A Marilyn, it lies just north of the Forest of Dean in Gloucestershire and two named trails cross it: the Gloucestershire Way and the Wysis Way. Enjoy the far-reaching views from the summit towards the Welsh border and over the River Severn.

A nice little hike in the English countryside to take in a May Hill. At 295m it is a UK listed Marilyn so one less to do.

A great place to stop for a break or even take a dip on hot summer's day.

Impossible to miss riding/walking from Symonds Yat East to Monmouth along the Peregrine Trail. Almost unbelievable that during flooding the river actually broke this bridge, showing how high the river can rise.
