The first service was held on Christmas Day 1604 – the Protestants quickly converted two connected houses at the Polish Gate into a church, after previously returning the parish church to the Catholics. A single-nave building in the late Renaissance style was built, made of brick, partly of stone (the northern wall – a fragment of the defensive walls). The fires of Wschowa, especially in 1644 and again in 1685, seriously damaged the building. After one of them, the roof was rebuilt into a uniform gable roof, and annexes were built in 1720 and 1773.

In the place of the present palace there was already a castle of the Dukes of Głogów, mentioned since 1468, passed on to the von Rechenberg family. At the end of the 16th century, Hans von Rechenberg rebuilt it in the Renaissance style. In the mid-17th century, the estate passed into the hands of the Barwitz family (von Fernemont). After a great fire in 1721, the former castle was rebuilt in the years 1732–1735 as a two-storey Baroque residence, preserving part of the older structure. The palace served as the residence and archive of the Reich Main Security Office, as well as Heinrich Himmler; a unique collection of books on Freemasonry and witch trials was gathered here. After the war, it was transformed into, among other things, a Children's Home (1957–2006); previously it housed the tax office, ZHP, OSP and a playhouse.

The temple was built in the years 1657–1658 on the initiative of Johan von Barwitz, the owner of Przybyszów, with its original purpose as a court chapel and open to both Catholics and Protestants.

It looks more impressive in real life than in the photos.

In Brenna and its surroundings, due to the favourable terrain conditions (open spaces, favourable winds) and developed agriculture, windmills were common. They were used to grind grain into flour, groats, and also to produce animal feed. These were usually windmills of the koźlak type (characteristic of Wielkopolska, with the entire body rotated on a pole – a trestle). Windmills were often owned by wealthy peasants, millers or landowners. They were an important link in the local economy, providing work and basic food products to residents.
