Easy rolling lane in both directions.

June 2025 - they've covered the road with chip and seal which is very loose and has formed mounds in places. It's not too bad going up but wouldn't recommend a descent.

Great station and starting point to many routes

Lovely quiet spot overlooking the city with great views of the city skyline, nice spot for a break along with some history to read about the Cholera outbreak and the monument raised in honour of the people lost.

Friendly and great cakes and coffee

Called in yesterday, great coffee, lovely setting. Advertised Christmas Market sounds tempting too.

There isn't much free bike parking at Sheffield Station but there is an indoor bike parking area, which is advisable anyway as some of the people hanging around outside are a bit sketchy.

Always a great stop off point! Great selection of meals, plenty of room for the bikes, nice to sit outside when it's warm or inside with a roaring log fire when it's chilly.

Nice easy going cycle routes around the stadium going along the canal path.

Plenty of trains into the peaks

Nice stretch of the tpt that goes up all the way towards Tankersley without having to leave the route much to cross roads or diversions to keep on it. Long stretches are paved and well maintained. Popular with walkers and dog walkers too.

Beautiful facade and great facilities

Fantastic coffee and cake, it's an old barn that's been converted really well,the food looked great if you have the time. lots of space inside and out for sitting down and plenty of room for cyclists and it's tucked away from the main road.

Short but challenging climb

If riding from Sheffield, this is the first bit of 'proper' peace and quiet you get when heading East. Not many easy ways to get up here so the first views of the flatlands ahead are very welcome!

Great coffee and cake! Nice toilet (not in the cafe) and a kitchen sink to refill bottles. Believe there's a bike shop in the courtyard also

Gapsick Lane runs from the A616 near Clowne in the south up to a high point of about 141m. It then drops slightly to the cross roads with the A619 on Whitwell Common. This highlight continues along Gipsyhill Lane to the edge of Bondhay Common. The road is quiet and the views across farmland and down to the nearby towns are nice.
