5월 13, 2025, Ermita Sant Bartomeu de Cabanyes
About 300 meters before reaching the hermitage along the track from Òrrius, on the left, dry stone walls are preserved, the remains of a shelter used by Republican militiamen during the Civil War. It's not signposted, but it's visible if you get off your bike and explore a bit. The surroundings are very peaceful and steeped in history: the hermitage was also used as a temporary shelter.

The uphill stretch from Roca del Valles isn't difficult and is a lovely greenery. The descent to the Orrius junction is similar.

This is another of the legendary climbs in the coastal mountain range of the province of Barcelona. It is a very accessible climb with slopes that never exceed 6%. It has approximately 5 km of climbing on both sides. It connects the town of Roca del Vallés with Argentona, next to Mataró, very close to the coast. It is highly recommended because there is hardly any traffic and you can ride in complete peace.

The Dolmen of Can Boquet, also known as Roca d'en Toni, is a megalithic structure in Catalonia. The name Roca d'en Toni probably comes from the fact that, according to 19th century records, the landowner was called Toni Puig.

Path to ride on MTB or gravel that runs parallel to the bed of the Besós river in its lower part. You can start riding from the mouth of the river in Sant Adrià de Besòs where it begins with paved bike lanes to the Can Zam Park in Santa Coloma de Gramenet where this dirt path begins right away. At this point there is the possibility of going up to the upper part of the river where there are paved bike lanes up to Montcada i Reixac.

The Besòs River Park is a public space located along the last 9 kilometers of the Besòs riverbed, from the confluence with the Ripoll river to its mouth in the Mediterranean Sea. With a total area of 115 hectares, it is one of the most important green spaces in the Barcelona metropolitan region, especially if we consider its location, forming part of the urban continuum of the cities of Barcelona, Santa Coloma de Gramenet, Sant Adrià de Besòs and Montcada. i Reixac. The contamination and degradation of the Besòs River and its surroundings is a problem that dates back to the sixties, mainly due to the great growth of the populations that surround the river and the industrialization process of these cities. The policy for the recovery of degraded river spaces initiated in the eighties by the town councils and the Generalitat of Catalonia -always with the collaboration of an increasingly sensitive citizenry- has notably improved the state of the Besòs river. It is necessary to highlight the effectiveness of the sanitation measures applied, especially in the nineties, to stop considering the Besòs river as a sewer.

A few meters away you have a restaurant frequented by cyclists that you cannot miss, ideal for breakfast and then visit this funerary monument, also known as the Can Boquet dolmen, we can find it next to the road from Vilassar de Dalt to Sant Bartomeu, very close from the hermitage of Sant Salvador de Can Boquet. It is from the Neolithic and consists of a small gallery with a trapezoidal plan with two standing stones on each side, one of which acts as the head of the back. Another flat lay on top acts as a cover. The plan of the chamber is quadrangular. A few meters from Roca d'en Toni, going up a path, we can see another sample of ancient cultures, this time from the High Middle Ages. These are seven medieval tombs built with granite slabs.

The first documentation on this temple in history appears in a document from the year 1191 where it is mentioned, but archaeological excavations carried out have shown the existence of an Iberian archaeological site in the south of the temple (Iberian, VII century BC) demonstrating a much earlier existence. of buildings, where some can go back to an even more distant time, placing some archaeologists in the very prehistory. It is a very austere construction without any ornamental element, made up of a single nave covered by a barrel vault, ending in a semicircular apse with a central alabaster window (Romanesque, 11th century), and where centuries later a new window would be added. stronger door, a stone ashlar window and a small bell tower with a belfry (Romanesque, 13th century).
