The monumental sculpture is located in the Plaza del Sagrado Corazón de Jesús. It was created in 1927 by the artists Pedro Muguruza and Lorenzo Coullaut. The sculpture is 40 meters high and consists of a stone base and a bronze statue depicting Jesus Christ with outstretched arms. The statue, which was formerly black, has been cleaned and is now gold.

Neoclassical square in the heart of Bilbao's Old Town (Casco Viejo). • The square was laid out in 1821 and completed in 1851. • It is surrounded by arcades and columns, beneath which are numerous pintxos bars and restaurants. • Plaza Nueva is a popular meeting place and considered the heart of the old town. • A flea market takes place in the square on Sundays.

An underutilized highlight, nearby you can ride your mountain bike down to Bilbao on two trails.

Already pretty much at the end/beginning of the railway line, here it is even asphalted, before/later not anymore, but always easy to ride.

When in Bilbao, you'll almost always pass by the striking Guggenheim Museum. The best view of the large building is from across the river. It has an exhibition space of 11,000 square meters and features both a permanent collection and special exhibitions.
