No problem, ascent from the south side (hole in the fence)...steep path...some route finding required...occasionally use your hands (a bit of scrambling but no problem)...you'll be at the top in twenty minutes! Rewarding view! Interesting caves (grottos nearby)! Best to take the same way back!

Comares is a picturesque, traditional Andalusian village in the province of Málaga, Spain, known as the "Balcony of the Axarquía" for the breathtaking views from its hilltop location, some 700 meters above sea level. Attention! We wanted to see the toro up close today and enjoy the magnificent view, but unfortunately, that wasn't possible legally. We walked all the way around the hill. Every access point leading up was locked and closed. The entire area is fenced in. Too bad, so we were left with only the view from a distance.

The 9.6-meter-high old lighthouse, built in 1929, and the new, approximately 24.7-meter-high lighthouse, built in 1974, are still in operation. It is located directly on the promenade and is visible from afar. Its automatic signal has a range of approximately 13 nautical miles. Inside, 106 steps of an iron staircase lead up to the top. The small, 9-meter-high lighthouse, which stands next to the new "large" one, was built in 1969 but did not meet modern requirements.
