Cazalla de la Sierra is a beautiful Sevillian town with almost 5,000 inhabitants. Its beautiful streets decorated with flowers and its white houses leave many corners to explore. The church of Nuestra Señora de la Consolación stands out above all, from the 14th century, which due to its dimensions could well be a cathedral. As a curiosity, the typical drink of the Valencian Community ("cassalla") has its origin in this town. Due to excess wine production in the 15th and 16th centuries, this aniseed liqueur began to be made, which took the name of Cazalla.

From this point you can see the Melonares reservoir, which appears timidly among the greenery of the pine forest. It is built on the course of the Viar river, which is born in the province of Badajoz. Although the dam project began to be devised in 1972, it was not until 2018 that it became operational.
