This pine forest is located near Peñausende. Its surface is enormous, about 500 hectares. Many of these pines are exploited to extract resin. Inside there is a wide network of paths suitable for walking or mountain biking.

On a promontory are the remains of what was once a castle belonging to the Order of Santiago. From that area there are beautiful views of the region.

A good place to stop to rest a bit in the small rural town of Santiz is next to the Church of San Miguel Arcángel. There should be a water source nearby but check if it is drinkable or not.

Beautiful gravel path that skirts the ridge until reaching the highest point of the Teso Santo, where the communication antennas are located. The trail continues following the wind farms.

Moraleja de Sayago is a small rural town in the Sayago region located next to the Moraleja river. The church and the town hall in the center of the city.

On the outskirts of the town of Santiz, you come across the ruins of the castle of Asmesnal. Medieval defensive castle that played a fundamental role in the area's war with Portugal in the 15th century.

The ruins of Peñausende Castle rise high above the city, on a defensive rock outcrop. It is worth going up and around the castle for the stunning views of the surrounding landscape.

The town of Peñausende is located in the Sayago region. On a rocky hill there are remains of an ancient settlement, where the old fortified castle stands, dominating the surrounding landscape and the commercial route.
