During our hike up the Meuchelberg, there are always beautiful views, like here of the Heimbach reservoir.

take the route on the other side of the lake, much more scenic. Can be bumpy though. Not recommended when there is ice and snow

when doing summer hikes along the lake this is your safety net when you are too tired to walk back. Just hop on the boat (not cheap though)

A large section has now been paved. Unfortunately, only cyclists seem to be considered; I don't even want to imagine what it's like here on weekends with speeding cyclists, pedestrians, children, and dogs. 🤨

The interesting formations formed by the red sandstone cliffs here are not man-made. Nature was the architect, piling up rocks here over the course of Earth's history and partially smoothing them down again through erosion—a perpetual process.
