Former waterworks and milk cooling plant Now a residential building

In 2014, the Turboden power plant in Sauerlach entered regular operation, generating electricity for around 16,000 households. In addition to electricity, heat is also extracted for the Sauerlach district heating network. The boreholes of the Sauerlach plant have a vertical depth of up to 4,480 meters, and at 5,567 meters, the TH3 was the longest geothermal well in Germany at the time. In 2018, Sauerlach received the "Golden Power Plant 2017" award at the Praxisforum Geothermie.Bayern (Geothermal Energy Practice Forum) for the plant's outstanding performance. The boreholes of the Sauerlach plant have a vertical depth of up to 4,480 meters, and at 5,567 meters, the TH3 was the longest geothermal well in Germany at the time.

A very nice bike path

Beautiful little place with some really big and impressive hotels.

The origin of the church dates back to 1315. It was rebuilt in 1740/41 by Ignaz Anton Gunetzrhainer. The tower dates from 1863. Source: Höhenkirchen Parish Association

The Catholic Chapel of the Scourged Saviour in Dürrnhaar was built in 1746 by Joseph Hecher, a lip farmer in Dürrnhaar. The small plastered building with a polygonal choir has a roof turret with an onion dome. The single-nave hall building is covered by a flat lancet barrel vault.
