It's ideal for parking your car and climbing the mountains from there. From the top, you'll enjoy a beautiful view of this beautiful lake. Unfortunately, swimming in the lake is not permitted.

Lac Blanc was formerly connected to the lower-lying Lac Noir via a pumped-storage power plant – in operation until 2002 to store and generate electricity.

A slimy path, but with good sturdy shoes and plenty of drinks it is no problem

Very nice view of the lake about halfway along the circular trail around Lac Vert, including a bench to enjoy this view during a short break.

A lovely hiking restaurant near Lac Vert and right on the trail from Le Tanet to Lac Vert—at least on the route I chose. The restaurant was busy, and I can recommend the ice cream and coffee, at least from my own experience. There's also a large parking lot near the restaurant, so it's a good place to start your circular hike and stop for a bite to eat afterward.

From here you can clearly see how the summit of Le Tanet stands out as a rather small elevation from the surrounding plateau, while on the other side it drops steeply down a rock face into the valley - if you put pictures of both sides side by side, it is hardly recognizable as the same mountain.
