I don't specifically recommend going through this point, but it's certainly a unique and iconic spot. Climbing it requires strength and skill, and even on an e-bike it will be difficult. Going down it, if you have some skill, will be fun 😜

The Medina Azahara Visitor Centre in Córdoba is an ideal opportunity to explore the remains of the once magnificent 10th century palace city. It offers comprehensive information and insight into the history and significance of this important archaeological site. In 2018, the Medina Azahara archaeological complex was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Entry is free for citizens of the European Union. Visitors from non-EU countries pay a small entrance fee.

A closed gate prevents you from continuing along this route.

The Escalones hill is a stony area, especially slate, through which the Camino de Santiago Mozárabe runs. Despite the bareness of the stone, most of the route can be traveled, even by bicycle. This secluded path enjoys a series of landscapes among the forest with a very rural character.

Due to the proximity of the dam to the city of Córdoba, its main function is supply. It was built in 1911 at the source of the Guadalmellato river, which flows into the Guadalquivir after more than 110 kilometers of travel.
