Directly below the Ermita de Bonany, a picnic area invites you to rest and enjoy a snack. You can enjoy the magnificent view, and there's even a free public restroom. This spot is also used by Mallorcans to meet up with their families on weekends and holidays—you can even drive to the Ermita. 😉

A little way off the main path there is a beautiful viewing point with a wonderful panoramic view. The detour is worth it.

The Maiden's Fountain ("Fonteta de la Mare de Déu"), located a short distance away from the path, was used by the hermits of Bonany to irrigate their vegetable gardens. Inside there is a replica of the statue "Mare de Déu" (a work by Guillem Galmés).

Unfortunately, I can't fully understand Elli's statement. The section of the path where the highlight is the path over the Camí vell de Bonany and therefore the official and signposted hiking trail.

This section of the path leads over private property with vicious dogs and is not actually a path, so you shouldn't walk too long here, but use the signposted official hiking trail, which shortly before - coming from Petra - turns off the road to the left.

At the top of Puig de Bonany, at a height of 317 meters, is located this wonderful hermitage. The first documents date from 1606, when a small oratory was built. The current temple was built between 1920 and 1925. In a historicist style with neo-Baroque roots, the hermitage has a Latin plan without side chapels and is covered with a barrel vault.

When in Petra, it's worth a detour just for the view alone. In comparison, little-used serpentine road with one or the other pothole.

The 317 meter high "Puig de Bonany" lies between Petra, Vilafranca de Bonany and Sant Joan de Sineu. On its summit is the homonymous hermitage, which was established in the 17th century in honor of the Mother of God.

The monastery of Santuari de la Mare de Deu de Bonany or Bonany Monastery is located a few kilometers outside of Petra and is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Mallorca. It lies on a 317 meter mountain - the Puig de Bonany.

Very nice little monastery. You can also spend the night there in the monks' rooms by prior arrangement. Very inexpensive, number is on the Internet.

The Ermita de Bonany is a church on the summit of the 317 m high Bonany. What is remarkable is the nativity scene to the left of the entrance with 2 peepholes on the right + left - a bit like a model railway... There is a drinks machine in the anteroom. In front of the church there is a large picnic area with a good view.
