Directly below the Ermita de Bonany, a picnic area invites you to rest and enjoy a snack. You can enjoy the magnificent view, and there's even a free public restroom. This spot is also used by Mallorcans to meet up with their families on weekends and holidays—you can even drive to the Ermita. 😉

In 1879, the town was connected to the Mallorcan railway network via the Inca-Manacor railway line. In 1977, the 914 mm gauge railway service abruptly ended due to track defects. However, everything remained as it was when the railway service was discontinued. During the reconstruction to meter gauge in 2003, a bypass was built in Petra, and a new station was built outside the town. The old station remained and became home to local boules players. Since nothing has been changed, Petra is today the last remaining example of a typical Mallorcan rural railway station. It includes the reception building built in 1879, the toilet block, the well, the goods shed, and the walkable 914 mm gauge track. With EU funding, the buildings were restored in 2022 for around €300,000. However, there is no evidence of any use of the buildings. During a previous visit, the station building served as a camp for the boules players.

The building that now houses the Petra Theater was built in the second half of the 20th century as the headquarters of the Guardia Civil. Its U-shape and façade are particularly interesting. The theater itself was installed in the west wing of the building in 2005.

The former graduate school was built by Guillemot Forteza in 1927. On September 24, 1940, a military aircraft crashed into the school, killing two children and injuring several others.

The Parish Church of Sant Pere is considered one of the largest parish churches in Mallorca. The size and perfection of its construction testify to the importance of Petra in past times. It is the city's third parish church, whose construction began in 1582 and was completed in the 17th century. Although it was built during the Renaissance and Baroque periods, the church's architectural style follows the Gothic tradition, although there are some elements of later styles, such as the Baroque Rosary Chapel and the Renaissance portal of the sacristy. It has a basilica plan with a single nave divided into seven sections, covered with cross-ribbed vaults and side chapels. Its interior contains valuable works of art and religious furnishings, such as altarpieces of various styles, from 15th-century Gothic (such as the painting of the Santos Médicos in the chapel of the same name) to Neo-Gothic (early 20th century). Also noteworthy is the baptismal font, dating from 1588, in which the most famous petrero, Junípero Serra, was baptized (1713). The Chapel of Santa Aina also contains a portrait of the missionary and a relic. The temple has two entrances. The main façade is unfinished and features a large rose window at the top. On the side façade, built in 1911, is the image of the city's patron saint, Saint Praxedis, a work by Guillermo Galmés. The 31-meter-high hexagonal bell tower was built in 1669. The structure is characterized by its pointed windows and pyramidal top. The bells date from the 17th and 18th centuries.

The signposted path no longer leads over private property in 10/2024. This section of the path is paved and an official ascent route.
