This is an old road leading up to the Puigmal ski resort from the village of Err. For many years, this road was abandoned until it was resurfaced in 2023. The result is a narrow, perfectly maintained road that takes us from Err to the Cotzé area, where the first remotes of the old ski resort are located, and where it connects with the main climb from St. Leocadie. This section is approximately 5 km at 8.5% uneven terrain, combining steep slopes with rest areas. It traces three beautiful hairpin bends, one of which offers wonderful panoramic views of the French Cerdanya.

This chapel marks the beginning of one of the 2 variants (the hardest, along a narrow but in perfect condition road) to reach Guils, and later to the Guils - Fontanera cross-country ski resort.

Together with Puigcerdà (capital of the Cerdanya region), Alp and Martinet de Cerdaña, it is one of the 4 large towns in the Cerdaña region. It is an urban center with all kinds of services and shops and very pleasant to walk quietly (although steep in its historic center). In my opinion, it is a good place to set up a base camp for routes through Cerdanya and the Catalan Pre-Pyrenees; I do not recommend it as a base camp if you want to go to France or even Andorra since there would be better alternatives for it.

The climb to the Puigmal ski resort is a classic in French Cerdanya. Two years ago, the paved section was lengthened by a few km until it reached approximately 2,200m. The climb is long, with easy areas and sections with hard ramps. There is even a descent of 1 kilometer before reaching the first service area of the station in Cotzé. At the beginning, the views are very beautiful because you can appreciate the size and length of the Cerdaña valley. Half way up, there is hardly anything interesting. The final part is spectacular with the views of Puigmal and the surrounding mountain circus.
