This church is dedicated to the Apostle James the Greater, the national saint of Spain. The European network of Ways of Saint James, usually marked by the symbol of the shell, leads pilgrims to his tomb. This is in the northern Spanish town of 'Santiago de Compostella', where he rests in a magnificent basilica built in his honor. The martyrdom (execution) of James is handed down by the evangelist Luke in the New Testament "Acts of the Apostles". Later legends tell of the boat trip of the corpse - the ship is steered by angels or by the wind of the Holy Spirit, depending on the variant - and its landing in Galicia.

Imposing castle a few steps from the town of Pancorbo. Even if it was in an open field, it is worth seeing, but climbing the stairs to the tower, admiring the town below and feeling yourself under the cliffs of the upper mountains... an experience to be repeated.
