The Church of Santa Maria de Iria Flavia is an important pilgrimage site and is considered one of the oldest churches in Galicia. It is also one of the main points of interest in the town of Padrón.

The Church and Cemetery of Adina are located in Iria Flavia, Padrón. The cemetery has archaeological remains from the Roman and Suebian era, such as anthropomorphic sarcophagi from the 6th century ¹. The church, also known as Santa María la Mayor de Iria Flavia, is an old collegiate church that houses the cemetery where the grave of Camilo José Cela is located, under one of the four centuries-old olive trees ² ³. There is also a tombstone in honor of Rosalía de Castro, who was buried there from 1885 to 1891 ⁴ ².

It is famous for being the place that, according to tradition, houses the tomb of the Apostle Santiago, making it one of the main pilgrimage destinations in Europe through the Camino de Santiago. The building is a mix of architectural styles including Romanesque, Gothic and Baroque. The Obradoiro façade is particularly impressive and is one of the most recognizable symbols of the cathedral. In addition, the cathedral features the famous Botafumeiro, a huge censer used during certain liturgical celebrations.

The Fountain of the Horses, also known as Fonte dos Cabalos. The space consists of countless Renaissance details, but in the middle of the square there is a fountain with four horses in Baroque style that quickly attracts attention.  Built by J. Pernas in 1825, the Fonte dos Cabalos consists of four horses spouting water from their mouths.

Santa María de Adina is one of the oldest churches in Galicia. The first church was built at the time of the rise of Christianity and was burned down by Almanzor at the end of the 10th century. In the 12th century, Archbishop Gelmírez ordered the reconstruction of the building. It was completely remodeled over two and a half centuries ago. The church was a bishop's seat and the first Marian church in the world.
