The Bridge over the Sar River is a historic and emblematic structure in Galicia, Spain. There are several bridges that cross this river, but one of the most notable is the Ponte do Sar, a 12th century Romanesque bridge located in Santiago de Compostela. This bridge was part of the old Roman road and was an entrance route for pilgrims who made the Camino de Santiago along the Vía de la Plata.

Located next to the Collegiate Church of Santa María a Real de Sar, the Ponte de Sar was built to overcome the last river obstacle already at the end of the Vía da Prata, or ancient route that connected the city with Ourense and Castile. Once past the bridge, the last part of the climb started along the current streets of Sar and Castrón Douro. This road entered the city through the Porta de Mazarelos or the Porta da Mámoa.
