Part of the interior was destroyed during the Spanish Civil War. Inside is a baptismal font from the 16th century.

The summit of the Unbe (302 metres) is the highest in the massif of the same name.

Saint Lawrence, to whom this church in Maruri-Jatabe is dedicated, is one of the early Christian martyrs from a time when Christianity was still forbidden. He was archdeacon of the Pope and was asked by the pagan emperor to hand over the treasure to the church. Lawrence asked for three days, during which time he distributed the church assets among the poor inhabitants of Rome and, after the agreed time, came to the emperor with the poor to present them to him as the treasure of the church. He was then martyred to death, the legend says that his body was roasted alive on a grate - this attribute can be seen in many depictions of Saint Lawrence - over coals. He is said to have been in good spirits and told his executioner on the one hand whether he wanted to turn him around. Saint Lawrence's memorial day in the calendar of saints is August 10th.

This large stone church with elements of great value is crowned by a tower and a clock on top. It was built on the old hermitage.

This Roman necropolis is located very close to the highest point of the Sollube massif. Here they received the ashes of the cremated deceased from a nearby town, between the 1st and 3rd centuries AD. c.

At 684 meters high, this is the highest peak of the massif that bears its name. It is located on the left bank of the estuary. During the Civil War, the so-called Battle of Sollube took place on its slopes for eight days.

Fruiz (or Frúniz in Spanish) is a small town in Vizcaya with a rather curious name. There are many Basque towns that end in -iz. It is believed to be a construction formed by a proper name attached to the Latin suffix -icus declined. That proper name would be that of the person to whom the municipality belonged in ancient times.
