What a spectacular structure we see today, it has survived the passage of time and the attacks of its inhabitants, not without a few historical vicissitudes. Most likely of Muslim origin, its history begins in the 13th century, until the withdrawal of the French in 1812 left the fortress almost destroyed. Due to numerous reconstructions, it can be visited today, although, understandably, only a small part of what it was in its day of greatest splendor remains.

In the municipality of Canena, the Canena Castle is a Renaissance-style building built in the 16th century: it was declared an Asset of Cultural Interest and is one of the most important in Andalusia.

It is a rock hermitage of Visigoth origin and is made up of three caves excavated in the rock. This historical-artistic monument in the middle of the Alcobilla hill is worth visiting.

The Giribaile reservoir is located on the slopes of the La Lambra area and was built between 1993 and 1997 to collect water from the Mar de La Loma river. The water from the reservoir submerged the 16th century Ariza bridge.

Hermitage or cave monastery of Visigothic origin located in the municipality of Rus in the province of Jaén. Its construction dates between the 6th and 7th centuries, and it is the only Visigothic hypogeum in southern Spain.

Fortification built in the 13th century, although due to the defensive pre-eminence that the hill occupies in the entire region of La Loma, it must have been a place encased by all civilizations since time immemorial.
