Of course, at this border—of which the pilgrim has already crossed several on his long journey through northern Spain—it is especially wonderful to have (finally) reached Galicia. This makes us realize that we are slowly but surely approaching the destination of the great and beautiful, but naturally also strenuous, pilgrimage route: the tomb of the Apostle James the Greater in Santiago de Compostela, Galicia.

The climb to O Cebreiro is rewarded with this unique panorama!

From here you have a great view of the Galician landscape.

Linares is a small, quiet village with a typically rural lifestyle. Agriculture and livestock farming are the predominant activities in the area, although the Camino de Santiago also provides a source of income through accommodation and catering for walkers.

La Faba is known for its strategic location, which makes it a highly valued place for pilgrims seeking a little peace and rest. At this point the hard climb to the border with Galicia begins.
